In a fundoplication, the gastric fundus (upper part) of the stomach is wrapped, or plicated, around the lower end of the oesophagus and stitched in place, reinforcing the closing function of the lower oesophageal sphincter.

Hiatal Hernia

This is a condition in which part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm muscle. In most of the patients Hiatus hernia is asymptomatic and in some cases it is manifested through Heart burn and abdominal discomfort

Depending on the severity, the treatment of Hiatus hernia varies from medical management to surgery which includes either Fundoplication or surgical removal of Hernia either by Open or Laparoscopic method.

Stomach Cancer - Gastrectomy

It is the fifth most common cancer worldwide, but the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths.

Treatment depends on several factors, including the severity of the cancer and the individual's overall health and preferences.

  • Removing tumors from the stomach lining in early-stage cancer: The surgeon will use endoscopy to remove very small tumors that are confined to the inside lining of the stomach. This is called endoscopic mucosal resection.

  • Subtotal gastrectomy: A part of the stomach is surgically removed.

  • Total gastrectomy: The whole stomach is surgically removed.
